The West Nusa Tenggara administration has declared a seven-day state of emergency following a magnitude 6.4 earthqua ke that rocked Lombok Island and claimed at least 17 lives on Sunday.
âThe state of emergency is for seven days and each team at three main posts will conduct an evaluation meeting every afternoon,â West Nusa Tenggara Disaster Mitigation Agency head Muhammad Rum said on Wednesday, adding that the emergency was declared through a gubernatorial decree on Sunday and would last until Aug. 4.

President Joko âJokowiâ Widodo led a meeting on emergency efforts following a 6.4-magnitde earthquake in West Nusa Tenggara upon landing in the province on Sunday afternoon.
The meeting was held in Sultan Muhammad Kaharuddin Airport in Sumbawa Island, immediately after the plane carrying the President and First Lady Iriana landed at the airport at 3 p.m.

At least 140 Armyâs Special Forces (Kopassus) personnel have been flown from its headquarters in Cijantung, East Jakarta, to Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to take part in a rescue operation on Mount Rinjani, in which 500 hikers -- about one-third of whom are foreigners â" became trapped after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake triggered a landslide.
The soldiers, who arrived at Lombok International Airport in Central Lombok on Monday afternoon, will join a search and rescue team on the ground.

Rescue operations are underway Monday on Indonesia's Lombok island for hikers and guides who were stranded on Mount Rinjani following a powerful earthquake Sunday that caused landslides on the mountain.
The Rinjani National Park chief says at least 500 people, many of them foreigners, remain "trapped" on the mountain which is the site of Indonesia's second highest volcano.
The death toll from the earthquake has risen to 16, with 162 people injured.

1) Recorded events in Week 30 are still largely hydro-meteorological in nature due to monsoon low and extending effect of Tropical Storm Son-Tinh, including a collapsed dam in Lao PDR. The effect is extending beyond Lao PDR with floods reported in Stung-Treng Province, Cambodia, and raised flood alert in northern Thailand.

In the early morning of Sunday July 29th, 2018, a 6.4 Richter Scale Earthquake rocked northern part of Lombok Island, Indonesia.
16 persons reported dead so far, while 162 injured, and at least 1,000 houses damaged/destroyed
Mount Rinjani climbers are reported to be stuck in the slopes. Reports varies from 500 to 700 of the climbers stuck with high risks of aftershocks.
HOPE worldwide Indonesia's disaster relief team is rushing to the island to bring emergency tents for the affected families .

1) A M 6.4 Earthquake occurred on 29 July 2018 05.47 hrs (UTC +7), with epicenter at a depth of 24 km and located at 8.4 S & 116.5 E or around 47 km northeast of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia (BMKG). No tsunami generated by this event and until 10.31 hrs (UTC +7), 79 aftershocks were reported (BMKG).
2) AHA Centre Disaster Monitoring & Response System (DMRS) triggered âWatchâ Alert.
